HIRES

John Kolb was named associate vice president and senior project manager of Chicago-based Interior Space International. He was previously co-director of interior design for Chicago-based Lohan Anderson. ISI is an interior design firm.

John Prentice was named vice president and industry liaison of the Skokie-based Portland Cement Association. He was previously director of marketing and interim president for the Window and Door Manufacturers Association in Des Plaines.

John Dasoqi was named vice president in the Buildings & Facilities Division in Chicago of New York-based STV. He was previously senior engineering manager with New York-based PB America, also in Chicago. STV provides planning, design and construction-management services.

Kevin Hickman was named business development manager of Janesville-based J.P. Cullen & Sons Inc. He was previously marketing director with Ruekert & Mielke Inc. in Waukesha. Cullen is a contractor.

Richard Schoenthaler was named chief financial officer of Eau Claire, Wis.-based Ayres Associates. He was previously vice president and chief financial officer of MINNCOR Industries in St. Paul, Minn. Ayres is an architectural/engineering consulting firm.

Craig Siepka was K-12 design leader of Darien-based Wight & Co. He was previously design and operations director at Gilfillan Callahan Nelson in Rolling Meadows. Wight provides design-build and construction-management services.

Brian Nelson was named senior project designer of Milwaukee-based Eppstein Uhen Architects. He was previously project designer for HDR Inc. in Milwaukee. EUA is a design firm.

David Motarjeme was named regional controller of Vernon Hills-based STS. He was previously services controller with Insight Enterprises. STS provides site planning, design and construction-engineering services.

Harley Ellis Devereaux of Detroit has announced the appointments in Chicago of Dennis Mika as senior architectural designer and Heather Nauss as business development manager. Previously, Mika was senior designer with OWP/P in Chicago, and Nauss was director of marketing and business development with LCM Architects in Chicago. HED is an architecture firm.

Robin Reymond was named staff scientist of St. Louis-based Geotechnology Inc. She was previously a contract employee with the firm. Geotechnology provides geotechnical and environmental engineering, materials testing and other services.

PROMOTIONS

Jeffrey Masters was named vice president and regional operations manager in Chicago of Providence, R.I.-based Gilbane Building Co. He was previously senior project executive. Gilbane is a contractor.

Shiel Sexton Inc. of Indianapolis has announced the promotions of Rick Tuner to senior superintendent from superintendent, and three to project engineer from project coordinator: Ross Dalton, Brian Rooksberry and Drew Holst. Shiel Sexton is a contractor.

Alex Vasiliev was named project scientist in Green Bay of Vernon Hills-based STS. He was previously GIS specialist. STS provides site planning, design and construction-engineering services.

Baxter & Woodman Inc. of Crystal Lake has announced the promotions of Louis Haussmann to transportation group leader, Jason Fluhr to transportation municipal projects department manager and Daniel Durig to Wisconsin state highway department manager. Haussmann was previously transportation department municipal projects manager, Fluhr was previously project manager and Durig was previously senior transportation engineer. Baxter & Woodman provides planning, design and other services.

Robert Benson was named associate principal of Chicago-based 4240 Architecture. He was previously senior associate. 4240 is a design firm.

HONORS & APPOINTMENTS

Dan Mitchell was elected to the Board of Directors of St. Louis-based HOK. He continues as managing principal in the Chicago office. HOK is an architectural firm.

Casey Frankiewicz was named director of healthcare of Waukegan-based Legat Architects Inc. He continues as principal, chief of staff and director of the Waukegan studio. Legat is a design firm.

Greg Uhen has received the 2008 Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. He is the president and CEO of Epstein Uhen Architects in Milwaukee.

Stan Martenson was appointed to the Soil and Storm Water Code Advisory Council, an agency in the Safety and Building Division of the Wisconsin Department of Commerce. He is CEO of Menasha-based Martenson & Eisele Inc, a planning and engineering firm.
